October Notes: What's Moving in LGBTQ+ Travel
Updated: 15 hours ago

We're starting this roundup format because it's useful to us too — tracking what's moving in this space is part of how we build Everyone.travel. Here's what caught our attention this week.
Are gay-exclusive resorts still relevant? GayCities put this question to its own readers this month, and the answers were split — some travelers still want spaces built exclusively around one part of the community, others are looking for places that are welcoming without being exclusive. It's a question we think about constantly, because the honest answer is: both should exist, and neither should be the only option.
Late-season getaways, if you're not done with summer yet A couple of roundups this week pointed to the usual late-summer favorites — Provincetown, Palm Springs, Key West — plus event-driven trips like Sitges Bear Week and Southern Decadence in New Orleans. Good inspiration if a last-minute trip is on your radar before the season turns.
Cruise season planning is already underway If cruises are your thing, several 2026 sailings are already being recommended for booking now, including options built specifically with Black gay travelers in mind. Worth a look if you're planning that far ahead — cruise cabins have a way of selling out before you expect.
The gap we keep noticing We'll say this plainly: most "LGBTQ+ travel" coverage this week, like most weeks, was really gay-male travel coverage. The strongest lesbian travel options right now are still mainly a couple of long-running specialty operators — doing great work, but functioning more like a separate lane than part of the main conversation. And genuinely new trans-travel content is rare; what exists is mostly safety and policy information, which matters, but isn't the same as being told where you're welcome to actually go and enjoy yourself.
That gap is most of why we're building this. More on that soon.
