Late-October events to know

Key West Bear Weekend: October 28 to November 1, overlapping the end of Fantasy Fest season in the city.

Palm Springs Leather Pride: October 29 to November 1, ahead of Palm Springs Pride on November 6 to 8.

Formosa Pride, Taipei: October 30 to November 1.

Leather Pride Amsterdam wrapped up October 19.

Windy City Times is featuring a travel story on Pride weekend in Dallas, describing it as a weekend of unabashed joy for the city's queer community. If you're thinking about Texas for a future trip, it's worth a read.

Community centers: a resource for travelers

The Movement Advancement Project and CenterLink released their 2026 LGBTQ Community Center Survey, the tenth in the series. The centers surveyed serve more than 29,000 people a week, or about 1.5 million a year across the country. For travelers, community centers are often a great first stop in a new city: they know what's on, and they can point you to local events and welcoming businesses.

Cape Town's moment

Cape Town was named Best LGBTQ+ City Destination in this year's SPARTACUS Travel Awards. The city is known for its Pride festivities, a walkable gay village in De Waterkant, and a permanent rainbow crosswalk, and it's a popular pick for winter-sun trips for travelers from the Northern Hemisphere.
