Welcome to The Rainbow Notebook: What We're Building and Why

If you've been reading along, you've seen guides to Puerto Vallarta, Berlin, and Amsterdam, a look at the numbers behind LGBTQ+ travel, and a few news roundups. You may be wondering what's behind all of it.
This post is the answer. Here's who we are, what we're building, and what we'd like to do with you.
Why we started
Travel should feel like belonging, not like a research project.
Too often, planning a trip as an LGBTQ+ traveler means reading between the lines of a hotel website, searching forums for someone who looks like you, and hoping the rainbow flag in the brochure means what it says. And as we wrote earlier this month, even the travel content aimed at our community tends to center one part of it, leaving lesbian, trans, nonbinary, and many other travelers to dig harder for trips that fit them.
Sometimes we feel the world is not a safe place for us. Expressing ourselves: our identity, our love, our souls , just takes a lot of bravery and it shouldn't. That's why Everyone.travel is building a world where every LGBTQ+ traveler belongs.
What Everyone.travel is
Everyone.travel is a travel marketplace being built for and by the LGBTQ+ community. The idea is simple: one place where travelers can find trips from many different suppliers, chosen with care and built around genuine welcome.
Three principles guide it:
1. A curated, diverse selection. Not one type of trip for one type of traveler. We want a wide range of experiences, from fully independent travel to professionally managed itineraries, so you can choose the style that fits you. You shouldn't have to fit the trip. The trip should fit you.
2. Vetted, not just labeled. We're building a process to look beyond the rainbow flag, at written inclusion commitments, trained staff, and honest listings. We wrote about what that means in more detail in our post on what "vetted" actually means.
3. A community, not just a catalog. We want this to be a place where travelers, hosts, and partners learn from each other, and where booking a trip can also support people doing good work for LGBTQ+ communities at home and at the destination.
Where we are right now
We want to be honest about this: we're early.
The Rainbow Notebook is live and publishing. The marketplace itself is still being built, and we're taking the time to do it carefully rather than rushing to launch. We'd rather open with a smaller, well-chosen set of experiences than a large catalog of listings we can't stand behind.
That means the blog is how we're getting started: sharing what we learnt, building a community, and listening before we launch.
What to expect from The Rainbow Notebook
Destination guides that are welcoming, practical, and honest about who each place suits best, across gay, lesbian, trans, queer, and family travel.
News roundups on what's happening in LGBTQ+ travel, including the stories that don't always get covered.
Quick tips for planning smarter trips.
Data and research that helps you make sense of the industry.
Community voices, such as hosts, travelers, and local organizations, as we grow.
How you can be part of it
Join the waitlist. You'll be among the first to hear when the marketplace opens, and you'll get early access.
Tell us what you want to read. Which destinations should we cover next? What questions do you wish someone would answer?
Share your experience. If you've traveled somewhere that stood out, for better or worse, we'd love to hear what made the difference.
Host or supply travel? If you run a guesthouse, tour, or experience and genuinely want to welcome the whole community, get in touch.
Thank you
We're building this because we think travel is better when everyone can find their place in it. If that sounds like something you believe, we're glad you're here.
Travel is where you belong, however you show up. [Join the waitlist] to be among the first in when we launch.
